Chinese Ambassador Meets Hariri in Majdelyoun: Looking Forward to Further Cooperation with Sidon for the Benefit of Both Sides

MP Bahia Hariri received the new Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Wang Kejian, at her residence in Majdelyoun, at the start of his official visit to the city of Sidon. The ambassador was accompanied by a delegation from the Chinese Embassy and by the coordinator of the visit, President of the Lebanese-Chinese Business Association (LCBA), Mr. Ali El Abdallah. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Hiba Hanina, Coordinator of the Sustainable Development Strategy at the Hariri Foundation.
 

During the meeting, discussions covered bilateral relations and the development prospects of Sidon, focusing on the city’s assets and potential for growth and revitalization, as well as areas where China could contribute to these efforts.

MP Hariri
Hariri welcomed the Chinese ambassador to Sidon, a city that deeply values this visit, highlighting the longstanding historical ties between Lebanon and China and the strong friendship and cooperation that continue to grow today in various fields. She emphasized Lebanon’s role as a nation of openness, knowledge, and cultural exchange values embodied by its people and its global diaspora, who continue to achieve great success around the world.

The Chinese Ambassador
Ambassador Wang Kejian praised the significant positive development in Chinese-Lebanese relations, which began under the late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri and continue to strengthen today under Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s government. He underlined the importance of Lebanon’s role in enhancing bilateral cooperation, noting Prime Minister Hariri’s active efforts to revive the historical “Silk Road” and promote cultural and trade exchange between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Wang presented MP Hariri with a traditional Chinese handicraft as a token of appreciation.

Following the meeting, Ambassador Wang said:
“This is my official visit to the city of Sidon, and I was honored to meet Mrs. Hariri. We discussed our impressions of the city, and she explained to me the many opportunities Sidon has in terms of development, human potential, and its national and local development plans. I wish the city continued progress and prosperity, and we look forward to further cooperation between China and Sidon for the benefit of both sides.”
