Beirut December 27, 2024 – The Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Qian Mingjian, stated that China is committed to supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty, stability, and the safety of its territories. He expressed China’s desire to further develop bilateral relations by enhancing economic bonds and reinforcing cooperation with public institutions in various sectors and regions of Lebanon. He emphasized, “Lebanon is a friendly state, and we will continue to support it.” During his meeting with Mr. Ali El Abdallah, President of the Lebanese Chinese Business Association (LCBA), Ambassador Qian added: "We look forward to strengthening stability in Lebanon on all fronts, and we have made every possible effort to contribute to achieving this goal. We will continue to support Lebanon, a country with which we share historical ties."

Ambassador Qian continued, “I was pleased to meet with Mr. Ali El Abdallah, and I praised the activities of the association, which works to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and implements projects in various regions, through its belief in the necessity of supporting local communities and helping to mitigate the effects of war and the economic crisis through development projects.”
He further stated, "We stand by Lebanon and its people, and we will make every effort to help it overcome this difficult period. We will work with all active forces to strengthen Lebanon, assist it, and protect its sovereignty. China always approaches international crises in a peaceful manner, as it views itself as a global power for peace, stability, cooperation, and openness."

For his part, Mr. Ali El Abdallah said, “As we approach the end of 2024, I came to congratulate His Excellency the Ambassador on the occasion of the blessed holidays, to thank him for China’s continuous support of Lebanon, and to express our gratitude to China’s leadership and people for everything they have provided to Lebanon. We have successfully carried out many joint projects between the Lebanese Chinese Business Association (LCBA) and the Chinese Embassy, and we look forward to further developing our relations and continuing the implementation of joint projects."

Mr. Ali El Abdallah added, “Ambassador Qian Mingjian attaches great importance to developing the historical relations between China and Lebanon. He constantly emphasizes that China seeks to strengthen these relations and is making every effort to enhance cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, cultural, and other fields. We support the development of these relations through our economic activities, and we are very keen on strengthening Lebanon’s position in the Belt and Road Initiative, especially since China considers Lebanon to be historically an essential station and a vital link in this initiative. I believe the major changes occurring in the Middle East confirm the importance of strengthening our relations with China and elevating them to a higher level.”

He concluded, "China has never hesitated to help Lebanon during every challenge and event we have faced. China provided emergency medical supplies in October after the outbreak of the war against Lebanon, sending various medical supplies in response to urgent needs caused by the aggression we faced. China also provided vital assistance to displaced people and contributed to saving lives. The aid during the war was not limited to medicine and medical equipment, as Lebanon also received a Chinese financial grant in October to support displaced persons in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs. This grant played a crucial role in assisting those displaced from their homes in southern Lebanon in search of safety in other regions. Once again, I extend my congratulations to His Excellency the Ambassador on the occasion of the blessed holidays, wishing China continued prosperity and progress. The world is going through a very sensitive phase, and I believe China can play a significant role in maintaining international peace and security for the benefit of all humanity."
